Monday Hike to Wind Cave

Details
This challenging and scenic hike leads to the Wind Cave, a beautiful cave in Usery Mountain Regional Park. The beginning is relatively flat, with some subtle switchbacks. Shortly after, the climb gets steeper with small sections of rocky and technical hiking. There is some scrambling required to reach the cave, which may not be suitable for children or pets. Once you reach the Wind Cave, there are good photo opportunities and views toward Phoenix, the East Valley, and beyond. This hike is 3.2 miles and and has a 1034 ft elevation gain. We will also go above the cave to the highest point, which is another 1/2 mile. After the hike some of us may go for coffee. There is a fee to access this park, so we will carpool from Basha's.
