Paddle Upper Loxahatchee River in Jupiter

Details
Trip Leader is Ron Haines, 561 315-0528, ronaldhaines@bellsouth.net
We will be paddling the UPRIVER portion of the Loxahatchee River at Riverbend Park, 9060 W Indiantown Rd, Jupiter. This trip requires TWO small portages of about 200 feet to get into the upper river portion and back. Folks generally help each other at the portage. This is a leisurely 3-4 hour flatwater paddle with a picnic stop halfway through. Caution: Boats with fins and paddle boards will likely have trouble in the weeds.
We will shove off at 10 am from the public boat launch in the park. Enter the park and follow the signs to the canoe/boat launch on Picnic Island.
Required: PFD on and fastened, whistle, ten feet of rope. Also bring hydration and snacks as you wish and whatever personal items you need. MOSQUITOES MAY BE PRESENT!
NOTE: This group has a $10 per year voluntary dues program to cover the annual Meetup organizer's fee. Organizer Ron Haines, the host for this paddle, will happily accept your contributions at this event.
Rentals are available with Jupiter Outdoor Center/Riverbend (https://www.jupiteroutdoorcenter.com/riverbend/rentals/). Make your own arrangements. Renters must paddle about 15 minutes from the rental location and arrive at the public launch by 10 am. Identify yourself to the leader when you arrive please. Go left from rental place, take the first right, follow the water under a bridge, around to the left, through a tunnel, and then watch for the public launch on the left.
