Jupiter Brown has declared himself the Lieutenant Governor of the self-governing crown dependency of British North America, a micronation with the mildly serious goal of returning this fair land to the reign of the Crown of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland from which it was illegitimately stolen.
We are an entirely peaceful group and always will be. We are made up of anglophiles, Britain-loving progressives, fans of the royal family, proponents of the Westminster system of government, and even ordinary Americans who are merely sick of political gridlock and unstable republican forms of government. We are here and we will not wait for His Majesty’s government in London to intervene. We choose to live as his subjects here and now.
We welcome with open arms fans of everything from Shakespeare to Jane Austen, from Monty Python to Harry Potter to James Bond, the Beatles, Blur, and Radiohead, everything from tea and shortbread to football and cricket, and the rest of the treasures from this remarkable island.
We will not wait to set up a government under His Majesty. We will not wait for knighthoods, peerages and other honours. We are the return of British North America, and we come together as one family to screen films, debate about Harry and Meghan, and schedule satirical demonstrations, as we look forward with hope to a day when His Majesty’s government may recognize us and deliver us from this disloyal rebel government.
