Scout ride from Manhattan to Fort Totten (about 33 miles)
Details
Scout ride from Queensboro Bridge, Manhattan side, to Fort Totten and back. Start and return from Starbucks near the Bridge (2nd Avenue).
Average speed 12mph or less.
This is a scout ride because I have never done it before on my own. That means that I could make a mistake here-and-there. A couple of stops for restroom, bring your lunch - lunch break at Fort Totten.
I think it would be a good preparation for the TD5BBT (TD 5 Boroughs Bike Tour).
Anyone is welcome with any vehicle. However, please keep in mind that I will try to maintain a 12mph speed where possible. If you lag behind you may have to find the way on your own.
As I said, I don't know this ride/area well but there should be public restrooms all over Flushing meadows park, about 8 miles in the ride, about 16 miles is a bunch of public restrooms in alley pond park, and at fort totten there is a couple of public restrooms as well about 20 miles in.
We will try to resolve any mechanical problems together, but each participant is free to continue on their own and/or abandon the group.
I am open for suggestions/comments.
Thank you

This will be the route that we will most likely follow. The starting and end points though, will by the Manhattan side of the Queensboro Bridge. It is recommended to bring the cue sheets with you.
ps: I expect all cyclists to accept personal responsibility for their own actions (or lack thereof) and I recommends riders to use helmets, lights, etc.
