Join an easygoing group ride from Grand Army Plaza to Japan Village—enjoying city scenery, a cultural stop at The Noguchi Museum, and the company of fellow adventurers. This experience isn’t about racing to the finish, but about savoring every stop and every flavor on the journey.

While our event is called "Beers & Wheels," inspired by great local brews and cycling camaraderie, there’s a special twist at the ride’s end: sake and Japanese beers! After sampling authentic Japanese cuisine and joining a sake tasting, you’ll have the chance to check out the Sunrise Mart supermarket inside Japan Village, where you can browse and purchase a selection of unique Japanese beers to take home. These include seasonal, craft, and hard-to-find Japanese brews, adding another layer of discovery to your day.

What do you think pairs better with Japanese food: a cold beer or smooth sake?

This ride includes a mix of protected bike paths and busy city streets, so you should feel comfortable sharing the road with cars. We’ll also cross the Robert F. Kennedy (RFK/Triborough) Bridge, which is high up with narrow lanes shared with pedestrians—be prepared for tight spaces and take it slow. Helmets and front and rear lights are highly recommended for visibility. Bring plenty of water to stay hydrated, and a few snacks to keep your energy up as we roll.
