Hey everyone!

Welcome to Meals & Wheels — the ride series where the destination is delicious and the journey is half the fun. Today's edition: Chain Gang Hot Pot, a ~31-mile loop from Grand Army Plaza through some of Brooklyn and Queens' most interesting neighborhoods, fueled by city streets, waterfront paths, and a well-earned lunch.

You’re welcome to jump in along the route if it’s easier — riders can join from Manhattan or Queens without meeting at Grand Army Plaza (route link at the bottom of the page).

We'll try to find a spot for a proper hot pot meal at Chongqing Lao Zao in Flushing. On the return, we will cross the Kosciuszko Bridge back into Brooklyn, and make a brief but necessary pit stop at Grimm Artisanal Ales in East Williamsburg — 20 draft lines, rooftop views, and a brewery cat named Simcoe. We'll wrap up the ride back at Grand Army Plaza.

Ride details:
Start/End: Grand Army Plaza, Brooklyn
Distance: ~31 miles
Pace: Easy-going, no-drop, no rush
Bikes: All welcome — road, hybrid, e-bike, CitiBike, whatever gets you there
Bring: A jacket, helmet, water, snacks, lights, and a lock

A word on traffic:
We'll be sharing lanes with cars through much of this route — Flushing Avenue, Queens Boulevard, Broadway, and others are real city streets. Stay alert, follow the rules, keep it social.

If it gets cooler than 45 degrees, the ride will be canceled.
