This is an informal ride; each rider is solely responsible for their own safety, equipment, and compliance with traffic laws. I’m not providing supervision or instruction; I’m just sharing the time and route.

By attending, you acknowledge the inherent risks of urban cycling and agree that you alone are responsible for your riding decisions and any consequences.

This Saturday we’re trading communion wafers for pita. We’ll roll out from Grand Army Plaza and point our wheels toward Ayat in Astoria, sneaking into Queens via the Greenpoint Avenue Bridge and earning our mezze one pedal stroke at a time. Expect laughs, city views, and a very non-biblical amount of hummus.

After we’ve done our damage at Ayat, we’ll “wash out our sins” at SingleCut Brewery, then wander back to Brooklyn over the Pulaski Bridge. On the return we’ll duck into Atmosphere Brewery for a quick one, then cruise down to Brooklyn Bridge Park and wrap things up at Strong Rope in Red Hook. As always with Meals & Wheels, route and stops are guidelines, not commandments—we’ll improvise as needed.

Stops at breweries are purely social—there is absolutely no expectation or pressure to drink alcohol. Feel free to grab water, soda, or just hang out; the point is to mingle and have a good time!

The ride is open to everyone and all skill levels, as long as you’re reasonably comfortable riding in some traffic. Bring lights, a helmet, water, and a lock, plus your best attitude and a willingness to ride mostly for the company, the food, and the drinks.

We’ll cover about 25 miles at a chill, social pace, and e-bikes and Citi Bikes are totally welcome. Ride your own pace, regroup at stops. If the weather looks ugly, we’ll call it—no need to suffer for our (snack) sins.
