Get ready for another tasty two‑wheeled escapade—this time with a hint of Himalayan daydreaming. “Searching Monks, Finding Momos” is a ~25‑mile loop that starts at Grand Army Plaza and ends not at a monastery, but at a tiny Tibetan cafe perched over the Q tracks.

We’ll roll out from Grand Army Plaza, dip into Prospect Park for a short version of morning meditation—less chanting, more shifting. From there, we’ll head south and west to Bush Terminal Piers Park for big‑sky harbor views and a quick “are we enlightened yet?” check‑in. Spoiler: not yet.

Next up is the Belt Parkway greenway, where we’ll cruise the waterfront like a slow‑moving caravan, trading mountain passes for bike paths and yak bells for passing joggers. We’ll continue out to Coney Island, and then onto the Brighton Beach boardwalk: the perfect stretch for fake‑deep thoughts, real reflection, and a few private mantras about tailwinds and momos.

Then we’ll turn inland toward Ditmas Park, where our “spiritual journey” reaches its true purpose: Cafe Tibet on Cortelyou Road. No monks in sight, but plenty of momos and steaming bowls of noodle soup waiting to reward our efforts. We came seeking monks; we’ll settle happily for dumplings.

The ride will be at an easygoing, chatty pace and is open to all skills riders, including e‑bikes and Citi‑eBikes, as long as you’re comfortable with about 25 miles, some mixed paths, and a bit of city traffic. Bring lights, a helmet, water, and a lock—plus your best attitude and a willingness to ride mostly for the company and the food. The ride will end officially at Three Brewing, on Douglass Street.

This is an informal ride; each rider is solely responsible for their own safety, equipment, and compliance with traffic laws. I’m not providing supervision or instructions—I’m just sharing the time and the route. By attending, you acknowledge the inherent risks of urban cycling and agree that you alone are responsible for your riding decisions and any consequences.

The ride will be canceled in case of rain or cold weather.
