Video Game Making for Teens and Kids

Details

This event is catered to teens and kids 5th grade through 12th grade.

Give your child a front-row seat to the exciting world of game creation - taught live by a Professional Developer! In this one-time online event, kids will explore how real games are built using the beginner-friendly Godot engine, a favorite among indie studios worldwide. They’ll create characters, program player movement, spawn enemies, and add the finishing touches that will bring their very own playable game to life. It’s hands-on inspiration that blends creativity, coding, and design - perfect for sparking their imagination and showing them what’s possible in just one session!

Participants will need a Windows, Linux, or Apple computer with access to the internet.

Optionally participants can install the game engine in advance here: https://godotengine.org/
Or participants can use the online editor without the hassle of the installation here: https://editor.godotengine.org/releases/latest/
