Motors Clinic: How to Make Your Robot Move
Details
Electric motors turn electricity into motion, and they are one of the most important, and most common, devices in the modern world. In this clinic, you will learn about the most common types of motors and how to program a microcontroller to control them.
In this clinic, we will learn about how to control the most common motors in robotics applications: brush motors, hobby servos and stepper motors. We will do basic programming with a block language, so no programming experience is required.
In the class, we will cover:
- Hobby servos, 180 degree position with low grade accuracy
- Steppers, 360 rotation with high accuracy
- Brush motors, continuous motion with no positioning.
