About us
This is a group for Orlando photographers who want to get better at lighting by actually doing it.
I’m Ray, a full time photographer and educator here in Orlando, and The Lighting Playground is my hands on lighting workshop series. Every event is set up with multiple lighting sets, and you rotate through them, shoot, ask questions, and see exactly how each setup is built and why it works. No sitting through slides for two hours. You come to shoot.
Some events cover the fundamentals like one light setups, modifiers, and controlling shadows. Others are themed, like our SFX Edition with smoke, fog, and spooky sets. Whether you just got your first strobe or you’ve been shooting for years and want to try something new, there’s a spot for you here.
What to expect:
Small groups so you actually get time on each set
Real lighting setups you can recreate on your own
A chill, no pressure environment where questions are welcome
Other photographers to connect with, trade ideas with, and shoot with
