Navigating Challenging Family Relationships

Details
The Spiritual teacher Ram Dass said, "If you think you're enlightened, go spend a week with your family"
Eckhart Tolle often points out that family members are uniquely capable of “pushing our buttons” because old patterns and conditioning are deeply rooted in these relationships.
These triggers are not problems in themselves but opportunities to become more conscious of the ego at work.
Conflict usually arises when the ego seeks to be right, control, or defend itself.
By observing our own reactivity without judgment, we weaken the ego’s grip and create space for presence.
Much of the pain in family dynamics comes from carrying the weight of past grievances and roles Eg. “the difficult parent."
Presence means relating to people as they are now, not as our mind labels them from the past.
Recognizing that others are often acting from unconscious conditioning allows for compassion.
You stop demanding that they change in order for you to be at peace—your peace comes from awareness itself.
Join us on November 16th when we will explore, with the aid of teachings from Eckhart and others, how relationships are our greatest teachers.
