Halloween Sailing - Get Spooky On The Solent!

Details
Fancy a Spooky Solent weekend? Come for some Halloween sailing, with a party in Cowes and a trip west to Yarmouth or Lymington. This trip is suitable for any level of sailing experience. This is a non-commercial trip run on a shared-cost basis. Sign up cannot be made through Meetup - please register for the event through the London Sailing Club website (by clicking here).
The Plan
We will aim to meet early afternoon on Friday 31st October in Port Hamble marina so we can slip our lines by 3pm. We'll have a relaxing afternoon sail across to Cowes, where we'll eat ashore and go to a lively Halloween party with live music at the famous Anchor pub. Fancy dress optional, but encouraged!
On Saturday we'll have a leisurely start and then head west to either Yarmouth or Lymington for the night. On Sunday we'll head back towards Hamble, aiming to be tied up in the marina and off the boat by 15:00hrs. Accommodation will be aboard the yacht in shared double cabins.
Yacht
We’ve chartered an Oceanis 37 sailing yacht that’s licensed to carry 8 people, but we’ll be a maximum of 6 to ensure everyone has a proper chance to be involved in the sailing. You’ll be pleased to know the boat has central heating, hot/cold running water, a bathroom, a kitchen with a fridge, and more than enough electricity to charge your phone! There are UK 3 pin and continental 2 pin sockets on board so bring a continental adapter if you have one.
Skipper - Al Besly
I am a Day Skipper and hold a Powerboat 2 and VHF licenses. I have RYA theory up to YM Ocean. Most of my experience comes from ocean racing but I have also raced Sunsail F40s as skipper both in the Solent and the Canaries. I have skippered most of Fairview's fleet of 37s at some point. I'm gradually slowing down to cruising mode now (but expect me to cruise as fast as possible!)
Cost
This is a non-commercial trip run on a shared-cost basis. The cost is £250 per person, which covers the yacht charter, fuel, marina/harbour fees, breakfasts, lunches, and snacks whilst onboard. It doesn’t cover evening meals or getting yourself to/from the trip. I ask for the full amount (£250) up front to secure your place. Note that, because this trip is being advertised via the London Sailing Club’s platforms, anyone who is not already a full member of the Club (which costs £24 per year) will need to join prior to the start of the trip.
Kit
No special or expensive sailing kit required. Just bring practical footwear and clothing to suit the weather forecast. Lifejackets are provided. Foul weather gear can be hired locally if needed. Towels and bedding aren’t provided so please bring a towel, pillow and sleeping bag.
