This trip sold out in November within days of being published, so we're doing it again in January!! Let’s do something a bit different! Fancy an epic long weekend taking in the Costa del Sol and north Coast of Morocco?
The fun begins after work on Friday 23rd January at Queensway Quay marina, a short 10-minute taxi ride from Gibraltar airport. Our long weekend will see us cross over to the shores of North Africa and back, spend some quality time on the Costa del Sol, returning to Gibraltar on the morning of Tuesday 27thth (with the possibility of leaving the boat in Spain on the Monday for those who need to). Exact route will be weather dependent.
Yacht
We’ve chartered a commercially coded and well maintained Bavaria 37 Cruiser with three double cabins, decent galley and onboard shower and toilet. The boat and charter company are well known to us.
Skipper
Nick Roffey is a commercially endorsed Yachtmaster Offshore, and this will be his 15th sailing trip this year. He is very familiar with this part of the world and enjoys showing people around.
Weather and Kit
Expect windy but warm, average temperature 18 degrees, 20kt winds, more swell than you would find in the Solent, but perfectly manageable. You will need waterproofs, but they can be provided by the charter company. If you have any questions about kit, just ask.
Cost
This is a non-commercial trip run on a shared-cost basis.
The advertised cost is £285 per person based on 7 people. The boat can sleep 8, we would prefer 6, but let's see how many want to come. There might also be the option of a bigger boat, or more boats, so sign up and see. Any surplus will be returned at the end of the trip.
The cost covers the yacht charter, fuel, marina/harbour fees, breakfasts, lunches, snacks, and soft drinks whilst onboard. It doesn’t cover pub visits or meals ashore, or flights. You will need to get yourself to and from Gibraltar.
Full payment is requested upon sign-up to secure your place.
Note that, because this trip is being advertised via the London Sailing Club’s platforms, anyone who is not already a full member of the Club (which costs £24 per year) will need to join prior to the start of the trip.
London Sailing Club Terms and Conditions apply.
