According to a 2023 survey by Pew Research, 22% of Americans describe themselves as 'spiritual, but not religious.' These survey participants were more likely than religious people to believe that animals and nature can contain Spirit. They are also more likely to meditate, to feel a deep sense of wonder about the world, and to have had a sudden feeling of connection to something beyond this world.
