I believe there is something divine in all of us.

Not just in the healed.
Not just in the successful.
Not just in the people whose lives turned out the way they planned.

In all of us.

Including the addict.
The mentally ill.
The homeless.
The ones who have lost everything.
The ones who have been called broken, unstable, or too far gone.

Especially them.

The Divine Heretics is a gathering for people who have lived outside the lines. People who have struggled. People who have been judged. People who are still here — even if they don’t know why.

This isn’t therapy.
This isn’t a recovery program.
This is a place to be seen.

I created The Divine Heretics as part of a storytelling project and blog where people can share their real stories — not cleaned up or turned into inspiration, but told honestly. Because even in the darkest lives, there are moments of humanity, resilience, and something that feels unmistakably divine.

At these meetups, you can share your story — anonymously or openly — or you can just come listen. There is no pressure to speak. Some people come just to sit in a room where they don’t feel alone.

If you do share your story, it may become part of The Divine Heretics blog, but only with your permission. And if you never want your story told publicly, that’s completely okay too. You’re still welcome here.

You don’t need to be fixed.
You don’t need to be healed.
You don’t need to have a redemption arc.

You just need to exist.

Because the truth is — sometimes the most divine thing about a person is simply that they survived.
