Meet at 139 A Street and 22 Ave, off 140 Street in South Surrey and follow the signs put up by the Sunnyside Acres Heritage Society.

ACTIVITIES

We will meet at 9.50am, sign in and collect tools/equipment The site we are working on has been brush cut, so we will be removing himalayan blackberry roots. When the blackberry has been removed we will plant native trees (potentially alder, cascara, western red cedar) and native plants/shrubs (potentially salmon berry, wild rose, thimbleberry, ocean spray) Refreshments will be provided while you volunteer The volunteering will end at 1.30pm because we will be stopping for a lunch at noon that will be provided for us (veggie chili with a bun or soup and bun) WHAT TO BRING

Your rain jacket in case it is raining
If you have gardening gloves bring them (they will provided for you if you don't have them) Please bring your own water Wear sturdy shoes/boots that you don't mind getting dirty/muddy Wear clothes you don't mind dirtying up ABOUT Chantrell Park

Sunnyside Acres Heritage Society has been involved in habitat enhancement at Chantrell Park park for several years, in particular in the removal of Himalayan Blackberry. It is a natural area with trails.
