Cleanup the future location of the Rose Grabenhorst Garden in Pitt Meadows with the Lower Mainland Green Team & City of Pitt Meadows! This is a unique opportunity to see & be part of the creation of a new public space opening in a few years.

We will be removing invasive Himalayan blackberry, English Ivy & Horsetail, pruning shrubs & removing green debris at the future site of the Rose Grabenhorst Garden in Pitt Meadows! We will be helping create a beautiful new natural space while having fun & connecting with each other in nature. We will be working RAIN OR SHINE!

All ages, abilities & experience levels are welcome, bring your family & friends! NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY. Gloves, tools, educational instruction & snacks provided!

MEETING INSTRUCTIONS
This site is located NEAR the Pitt Meadows Golf Club, the exact address will be shared with participants prior to the activity. Use the location of the golf club for now to plan your commute. Call/text Ashton at 778-968-2693 if you can't find us!

GETTING THERE/PARKING
• This activity is NOT ACCESSIBLE BY TRANSIT & has very LIMITED PARKING. If it's possible, we strongly encourage you to carpool, bike or use another form of active transportation to get to this activity!

CARPOOLING
Looking for a ride or are willing to give others a ride to/from this activity? This will help make our activity more inclusive! Use the comment section at the bottom of this event page to organize. If no one responds to your comment, contact the organizer.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING WHEN CARPOOLING
Volunteers who carpool with others do so at their own risk
• Any compensation for the ride is to be discussed/agreed upon between the driver & the passenger
• Please be courteous & respectful to one another & inform each other of any changes right away. E.g. If you're going to be late, let the other person know
• GTC staff are not allowed to give rides & are not responsible for coordinating rides (though they may assist)

WASHROOMS
• A portable toilet will be available

FLOW OF THE ACTIVITY
• Meet at 9:45am (please be on time)
• Sign in on your phone or our tablet
• Receive educational instruction on how to identify/remove invasive plants & complete different tasks
• Remove invasive plants, prune & cleanup the space
• Take a break (snack time!) around 11:30am
• Continue with tasks until 1pm
• Take home a reward from a sustainable business
• Sign out on your phone or our tablet

WHAT TO BRING
• Refillable water bottle
• Wear sturdy, comfortable boots that can get wet & dirty. This site is can get soggy/muddy, especially after rain!
• Wear long sleeves & long thick pants (such as jeans) to protect you from thorny plants & ticks. Wear something you don't mind getting dirty!
• Rain jacket in case it rains
• Your own gardening gloves, tools, safety glasses. We have lots, don't worry if you don't have any!

WHAT WILL BE PROVIDED TO YOU
• Gloves, tools & safety glasses if you don't have your own
• An educational instruction on what to do (no experience necessary!)
• Yummy snacks
• A small thank you gift at the end, donated by a sustainable business

WHAT HAPPENS AFTERWARDS
• A follow-up survey will be sent (filling this out helps us improve our program and secure funding to run more activities!)
• A volunteer letter emailed on request
