- Detachment and the Examined Life
Socrates spoke about living an examined life. In the Bhagavad Gita, Krishna encourages action without attachment to the outcome:
“कर्मण्येवाधिकारस्ते मा फलेषु कदाचन।”
(Karmanye vadhikaraste ma phaleshu kadachana)
"You have the right to perform your duty, but not to the fruits of your actions."
This idea of inner freedom, detachment, and purpose echoes Stoic thought too—offering a different lens into how we live a balanced and meaningful life.
