This group is for people who enjoy reading and want a space to connect, discuss, and stay consistent with it.
The Melanin Readers Society focuses on fantasy, thrillers, mystery, horror, and crime. We highlight books by Black authors and stories with Black leads, while also exploring great books across all genres.
Whether you’re an active reader or just getting back into it, this is a place to discover new books, share your thoughts, and have real conversations. There’s no pressure to read at a certain pace just show up, engage, and enjoy the process.
If you’ve been looking for a community that makes reading feel less like a task and more like something to enjoy, this group is for you.

We’ll be reading Witch Queen Rising together throughout May. The book releases April 21, so this gives everyone time to grab a copy and get started.
This will be a laid-back, ongoing discussion not a formal meeting. Whether you read a little at a time or binge it, you can jump in whenever.

What to expect:
• Real reactions, not overthinking
• Conversations around characters, plot, and key moments
• Different opinions and perspectives
• A space to just enjoy the book and discussion
