What we’re about
We have enough singers for now but in September of 2024 we will organize a few tryouts. So don't hesitate to become a member of this group and subscribe to the Merry Poppins mailing list to keep up-to-date about these tryouts.
The Merry Poppins focuses on the great musical songs from Hair, Grease, Chicago, but also from modern classics such as Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. If you are passionate about singing then this is for you! The rehearsals are in English.
If you are accepted to the choir you will get high-level guidance and an ambitious attitude from me, and I will expect the same back. This is an amateur choir that aspires to make the most of the music, and most fun while we're at it.
About me, the conductor: I'm Linor, a professional classical and musical singer. I have sung for over a decade in professional choirs and have started my own choir The Merry Poppins not long after I moved to Amsterdam. I am also a singing teacher.
Since Musical Theater is close to my heart I am choosing to focus on that. For the past 10 years I have been teaching private and group singing lessons, lead warm-up sessions for choirs and enjoyed every minute of it. I am always curious how we can get even better with our voices.
