**LOCATION:** The event will take place at the American Museum of Natural History. Once your reservation is confirmed, details on the meeting point will be emailed to you.

**EVENT DESCRIPTION:** Join us for an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour as we explore the AMNH's Department of Herpetology's extensive 350,000 reptile and amphibian collection with doctoral student Daniela Garcia while learning about her research on aquatic snakes and field expeditions in Colombia. The event will last approximately 1 hr.

**Daniel Garcia** is a Ph.D. student at the Richard Gilder Graduate School of the American Museum of Natural History, where she studies the evolution of aquatic snakes. Her research focuses on how snakes adapt to the unique challenges imposed by the transition to aquatic environments. In particular, she is interested in understanding the sensory adaptations that enable snakes to see, hear, smell and detect tactile cues underwater. She also had the privilege of working as a field biologist in her home country of Colombia, exploring its remarkable diversity of amphibians and reptiles.
