This 20th-Century classic has been on members' TBR lists for awhile, so let's accomplish the goal and get this one in our Read column! It is under 600 pages for most editions. Also, if you seek out banned books, this selection falls squarely in your wheelhouse as it and its film adaptation have been regularly challenged, and was outright banned in Canada and other areas. We're starting off our year's reading with what the Nobel Prize Committee called "a German masterpiece".
