Hi everyone,

It has been longer than usual between events, but we're really excited to knuckle down again and have a quick hack for a good cause. As always, there's lots to share and some exciting projects underway, so hope you can join us and help make a difference with data!

For those who are new, check out the write up of our first event: http://www.minervacollective.org/minerva-blog/

In a nutshell, The Minerva Collective is a movement to utilise data exchange and analytics for social good, driven by a strong community of analysts and volunteers. The Data Co-op is a monthly working session which can include:

• Mini-hackathons where data is cleaned, prepped and explored for further analysis,

• Clinics for social sector organisations to drop in and ask data-related questions, and

• Planning sessions for wider community events.

This is an open session for volunteers who are interested in being involved with The Minerva Collective. These hands-on sessions are a great way to help a charitable cause, while increasing your analysis skills and networking. These events are for analysts of all levels.

As the data we deal with is often sensitive we use the Data Republic Senate platform to access the data. As such, it is a prerequisite to be certified with Data Republic - the certification takes 15-20 minutes and can be found at this link:

You only need to do this once, after which you will be welcome at all future events!

See you soon,
Anthony
