#12_MMT (Morning Maintenance Training) Hike at *East Garzas* with 20lbs

Come and join us and find your fitness level at MMT Hike at East Garzas, Garland.
We start hiking at 7:45 from East Garzas Trailhead.
Advisory: Section One contains strenuous (1,700' gain in 1.7 miles) section. Total length of this hike is 6.5 miles with 2,200' elevation gain.
The Route:
- SECTION ONE (Fitness Maintenance/Training part; The Route is River (0.8 mile, flat and nice warming up section) - Saddle (steepest in the Garland Park; 1,700' gain in 1.7 mile, very "Nice") - [Vasquez] to the top
We will take a good break at the top before we start SECTION TWO.
- SECTION TWO (Leisurely picnic part; 3.6 mile with 300' elevation gain, and mostly downhill): Go back on Vasquez - Saddle - East Ridge - [Veeder Pond] - East Ridge - [Garzas Bridge] - Garzas Canyon (nice walk along the creek). Back to [East Garzas Trailhead]
I will be carrying extra 20lbs, so the pace should be moderate ... I will be the de facto "sweeper". If you are interested in increasing your hiking speed, then carrying extra weight for this training hike should help.
Arrive by 7:30 so that we can start promptly at 7:45.
