#17_MMT (Morning Maintenance Training) Hike at *East Garzas* w/ extra weight

Come and join us and find your fitness level at MMT Hike at East Garzas, Garland.
We start hiking at 8:00 am from East Garzas Trailhead.
Arrive by 7:50 so that we can start promptly at 8:00.
Advisory: Section One contains strenuous (1,700' gain in 1.7 miles) section. Total length of this hike is 6.5 miles with 2,200' elevation gain.
The Route:
- SECTION ONE (Fitness Maintenance/Training part; The Route is River (0.8 mile, flat and nice warming up section) - Laureles - Vasquez Fence
- Section Two Go down to Veeder Pond, then take Veeder trail back to East Garzas. ***Thus, we are shortening the hike a bit.
I will be carrying extra 20+lbs, so the pace should be moderate ... I will be the de facto "sweeper". If you are interested in increasing your hiking speed, then carrying extra weight for this training hike should help.
Re: extra weight: Minimum of either 20lbs, or 10% of your weight.
Example 1: if one weighs 100lbs, then carry just 10 lbs.
Example 2: if one weighs 210lbs, then carry only 20 lbs.
