Have you ever wanted to tour the Big Sur Lghthouse? Now is your chance.
I have arranged a private tour for Monday, June 1st for various friends and there are still a few spots available. The cost is $20 per person, payable at time of tour.

Details:
During the tour, we will visit the Fog Signal Room, Lighthouse, Carpenter/Blacksmith Shop, Head Keeper's Quarters, Visitor Center & Gift Shop. All participants should be able to walk uphill with a 360' change in elevation. The distance is about 1 mile round trip. There are two sets of stairs: 1 with 37 steps inside the lighthouse; the other is outside with 61 steps.

We will need to meet at the entry gate by 9:30. This entrance is located about 18.6 miles from Rio Road in Carmel at the 54.1 highway mile marker which is stone not metal. There are no signs on the highway indicating the entrance but there is signage on the ranch gate. (If you come to a round wood sign for Pt. Sur Naval Facility, you've gone too far.) Cars should line up to the north of the gate and wait for a yellow-jacketed docent to open the gate and direct drivers to the parking area at the base of the rock.

Other details include:
*No pets are allowed on the tour or in vehicles during the tour. If a service dog is accompanying a member of your group, please ensure doggie bags are at hand.
*No food, smoking or beverages other than water are allowed during the tour.
*Participants should dress in layers and be prepared for wind and sun exposure.
*Sets of porta-potties with hand washing stations are available in the parking lot and at the top.
