Free RPG Day: DnD 5e, Grim Hollow: In The Beast's Wake

Come out and explore the setting of Grim Hollow. This setting guide to Dungeons and Dragons takes the players to the world of Etharis, a place of darkness and terrible evil, where goodness is rare and beautiful. In this dark fantasy setting, most heroes aren't paragons of justice; they're mortals with foibles and flaws, and the stories they're part of rarely end in wholly happy endings. Innocent lives are lost just as frequently as evil ones, and people must sacrifice all they hold dear to achieve their ends. The choices the characters must make have no righteous answer - only the lesser of two evils.

In our session-- Travelling between Vollendorf and Stehlenwald has never been so fraught with danger. Violent attacks on villages and merchant caravans along the trade route leave behind mangled bodies and whimpering survivors. Some say a curse is spreading from the village of Niederhalde, which has been abandoned for some time. Though the Lord General has offered a sizeable bounty to whoever can secure the trade route, few dare attempt it, as whispers of lycanthropy changing the local villagers into animalistic monsters keep the meek away. Others offer alternative explanations, saying a cult of an archdaemon has corrupted the lands, and these heretical talks have captured the attention of the Holy Church of the Hearthkeepers as well. No commonfolk will ever learn, however, choosing to tremble through restless nights while the courageous, or the foolhardy, venture forth to discover the truth...

Gear up, for the grave you've dug is not your own; it's for the eldritch beasts of the night! Grim Hollow is a beloved dark fantasy setting with a renowned collection of highly acclaimed books. Some good old-fashioned monster slaying here, plus, if you're lucky, you might even get to fight a goose hydra!

Join us for a thrilling one-shot session of Dnd 5e in Grim Hollow! Pre-made characters will be provided. This adventure assumes you have a basic understanding of DnD 5e rules, but questions will be happily answered. Dice and pencils are recommended, but extras will be brought. Feel free to bring your own character made with the 5e rules, using either standard array or point buy for your stats.
