Join us for a relaxed and inspiring photography walk at Wanatee Park in Marion, Iowa. This beautiful local gem offers a mix of wildflowers, birds, woodlands, and open meadows—perfect for capturing a variety of nature and wildlife images. Whether you're a seasoned photographer or just starting out, this is a great opportunity to practice your craft, enjoy the outdoors, and connect with fellow nature lovers.
We'll take a slow, mindful walk through areas rich with photographic potential. Expect to photograph birds, blooming wildflowers, insects, and whatever else nature surprises us with along the way.
You’re welcome to stay with the group or venture off on your own at your own pace. Shari and I will both be available throughout the meetup to answer questions, offer tips, and help out wherever needed.
Physical Difficulty: Easy to Moderate
• Easy – Short, mostly flat stretches near the parking area with minimal elevation.
• Moderate – Up to 1–2 miles roundtrip on dirt, mowed grass, or gravel paths, with some gentle inclines and uneven ground.
This outing is suitable for most individuals in reasonable health who can walk at a steady pace and carry their camera gear.
