Neurodiversity Discussion: Loss and Grieving

Details

A neurodiversity discussion held every other Monday at 6:30pm Pacific / 9:30pm Eastern over Zoom with The Neurodiverse Community

(Password for this discussion group can be found bellow)

OPTIONAL topic for this week:

** Loss and Grieving: ** Neurodivergent people often process grief and loss in different ways than neurotypical individuals. Sometimes delayed by minutes, hours, days, or even decades, grief in neurodiversity can be an extremely confusing, disorienting, and frightening process. One thing that is universal when going through a loss, traveling along that road with others is necessary for us to be able to process what has happened.

All topics are welcome and attendees are never required to share about the OPTIONAL topic. If this is your first time joining us, please arrive before 6:45pm PDT / 9:45pm EDT.

COST: Free with a suggested donation of $5 for the community. Please consider making a small donation via Paypal (athomeinnd@gmail.com) after the event if you enjoyed the discussion and camaraderie - Every donation helps to support ourselves and others by sharing the cost of hosting a community that fosters authentic connection and mutual support for all who identify as neurodivergent. Thank you for your generosity and your positive presence in the community!

Feeling at Home in Neurodiversity is a peer discussion group and supportive community centered on the challenges, hardships, wins, losses, and the intersecting identities of neurodivergence. We live in systems that aren't designed for neurodivergent needs. We're often mislabeled, misunderstood, misdiagnosed, and left feeling like we were born on the wrong planet.

FHN is mutual support and stimulating conversation about daily life, relationships, science & research, passionate interests, traumatic experiences, and more. Connecting with other community-minded ND people who understand these kinds of experiences can feel like coming home for the first time. We strive to make this a safe, open and judgment-free space where all neurotypes, identities and diagnoses (including self-diagnosis) are welcomed and embraced.

You can also join our Discord chat server to connect with community members any day of the week. Discord invite links are shared in a welcome message here on Meetup when you join but feel free to ask a host for a link if needed.
