Hi! My name is Elizabeth, and I've created this meetup group for writers who are diarists or keep journals. The purpose of this group is to support a special niche of writers as they navigate a difficult time in history. In addition to creating regularly scheduled time dedicated to writing in our diaries, I would like to explore the diary genre. Down the road, I hope to set up events that will put some pizzazz in our noble avocation as diarists.

The Noble Diarist is neither a creative fiction writers' group, nor is it a non-fiction creative writing group. It is not intended to be a place where we share what we've written. We respect one another's significance as recorders of history and our experiences within it.

The inspiration for me to shift my writing style from journal writing to writing entries in a diary is inspired by Etty Hillesum, author of Letters from Westerbork. I look forward to meeting other diarists and getting to know who has inspired you to take your journal or diary entries up a level and in the process, give credence to the day.
