The Luck of Barry Lyndon. (Really just Barry Lyndon.) By William Makepeace Thackeray.

Surprisingly, even though this was a serialized 19th century novel (1844), it's very short, only 250 pages. Still, I'm guessing the prose is dense so let's take three weeks.
