### The Evolution of Connection

Founded on March 13, 2021 as The DMV Socialites (and later Meaningful Connections in the DMV), our community has always been driven by a singular, powerful mission: to help adults find a genuine sense of belonging in a disconnected age. To address this critical human need, our Group continues to evolve! As of December 20, 2025, we have expanded again to become The Northeast Collective. From our Headquarters in Fairfax, VA, we have recently created NEW Chapters/Satellite Locations of our Collective in Philadelphia, New Jersey, and NYC! Year-round, we will continue hosting online events on all kinds of topics, and will continue hosting in-person events in Northern Virginia, DC, Maryland, Philadelphia, New Jersey, and NYC. Through this exciting and on-going expansion, we will continue to build a "Social Corridor" that bridges the gap between where we live, and who we want to become. Whether you are from the DMV (DC/MD/VA) or a newcomer to the Big Apple, you have a seat at our table!

### Our Vision: Intellect, Advocacy, & Adventure

Research shows that in this post-lockdown, high-tech era, adults around the world are now lonelier than ever. The Northeast Collective is the antidote. We aren’t a social group limited to one geographic area; we are a high-value, extremely active, and impactful Regional Network for diverse professionals (ages 35+) who crave depth, growth, intellectual discourse, and high-energy experiences. While some of our events occur in and near DC, our Members have also enjoyed regularly scheduled group experiences far beyond DC, including group trips to South Carolina, Miami, Ocean City, MD, Atlantic City, New York Fashion Week, Las Vegas, and the Paris Olympics in France.
We believe in the "Polymath" Lifestyle—the idea that you can spend a Saturday morning learning about AI-driven business plans or disability civil rights, then spend the evening at a NYC Fashion Week Mixer or a Fairfax Game Night.
What you can expect from our Calendar year round:

• Intellectual Salons: Socratic Happy Hours, museum tours, and deep-dive philosophical discussions on all kinds of topics.
• Empowerment Workshops: On topics such as Disability Rights Advocacy, AI Tools for Entrepreneurs, Crowdfunding for Your Cause, and Healing from Toxic Relationships
• Signature Socials: Group dining, Happy Hour, singles events, networking mixers, movie nights, picnics, festivals, Game Nights, and sports watch parties, just to name a few
• Global Adventures: Curated group travel led by our group’s Founder (a licensed Travel Agent), including upcoming trips to New York Fashion Week, Milan, Italy for the 2026 Winter Olympics, and AI-Focused Tours to the "AI Hubs & Hot Spots" of Northern Virginia, Silicon Valley, Japan, China, and South Korea.

### A Community Built on Impact

Since March 13, 2021, we have hosted hundreds of online and in-person events where members have found more than just "something to do." They have found new business partners, new career opportunities, new friends, and love interests. Some of our events are also kid and family friendly. We take pride in being a relevant, fun, and meaningful space where every member—regardless of background or life experience—feels seen, heard, welcomed and accepted.

### Our Culture & Code of Conduct

To protect the Meaningful and Positive nature of our connections and Collective, and to preserve our Mission, we maintain a Standard of Excellence by enforcing a Code of Conduct. As a Member of The Northeast Collective, you agree to:

• Lead with Respect: Treat all Members, Organizers, and Guests with kindness, dignity, and respect, both during and outside of events.
• Show Up for the Community: Honor your RSVPs. If you can no longer attend an event, just switch your status to "Not Going" before the event starts. We value the time of our Event Hosts. Frequent "No Shows" or last-minute cancellations disrupt the magic we create, and will result in Members being removed from the Collective.
• Integrity First: Ensure all event fees are paid an advance before attending paid events.
• Communicate: If you have a question or issue, reach out to one or more Members of our Leadership Team. We are here to ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all.
