"The Locked Door" by Freida McFadden

If the door to the basement in your home is locked, there may be a legitimate reason. Maybe you don't want children stumbling down the stairs, or maybe it's where you store your most expensive wine bottles or something. But let's be honest: If I visit your house, and the basement door is locked, I am going to immediately assume there is some horror movie nonsense happening down there.

This month we are reading The Locked Door by Freida McFadden (2021). This thriller novel follows a successful surgeon, Nora, who is attempting to live an ordinary life, despite the fact that her father is serving life in prison due to grisly murders he committed when she was a child. When a similar murder case arises, Nora finds herself wrapped up in the investigation. You may have read other McFadden novels, including The Housemaid (2022), and this one promises to be just as twisty and page-turning.
