Details
"Animals don't get too hung up on reason. They just keep killing."
From the mind of writer-director Chris Nash, In a Violent Nature takes the classic slasher formula and flips it on its hollow skull. Told almost entirely from the killer’s point of view, the film transforms a familiar story into something mythic, ambient, and strangely meditative.
Come along as we follow Johnny on the nature hike from hell, then take a deep dive into the film, exploring questions such as...
- What does shifting the camera to the killer's POV change about our empathy? Does it humanize him—or make him more disturbing?
- How does the film’s stillness shape our sense of dread?
- In what ways does In a Violent Nature set itself apart from the slashers it draws its inspiration from?
NOTE: There is a "no late arrivals" policy. RSVP only if you intend to arrive within 20 minutes of the event start time.
