NOVA Horror Club Discussion - Tetsuo the Iron Man (1989)

NOTE: This is NOT a screening, please watch the movie before the discussion.
A shriek of metal, flesh, and madness, Shinya Tsukamoto’s Tetsuo: The Iron Man is a fever dream of raw cyberpunk body horror that defies description.
After a chance encounter with a strange metal fetishist, a salaryman wakes up to find his flesh turning to metal. Every moment is agony; every movement, an act of war against his own body.
The film’s grainy black-and-white visuals and hyper-aggressive industrial soundtrack combine to form a nightmare with the energy of a live wire. But beneath the chaos lies something achingly human: a story about alienation, control, and the terror of losing your body to the modern world.
Tetsuo: The Iron Man is streaming on Shudder, Prime Video, Kanopy, and other digital services.
