Spring has sprung, and Lake Victoria has just been hit by a tidal wave of college kids ready to cut loose: a week of boats, booze, and boobs as far as the eye can see. It's the perfect setup for an unforgettable week... but not for the reasons these co-eds expect.

An underwater tremor has just cracked the lakebed open, giving way to an ancient breeding ground. Thousands of primordial, razor-toothed piranha have been unleashed, and they're just chomping at the bit to join the party!

Directed by Alexandre Aja, Piranha is an absolute splatterfest that embraces its B-movie roots with unapologetic enthusiasm. Packed with outrageous set pieces, a knowing sense of humor, and literal record-setting amounts of gore, the film transforms creature-feature carnage into pure midnight-movie spectacle — where the body count is high, the blood flows freely, and subtlety is left on the shore.
