"They're salting the soil to keep it contained. It's old. It has to be really old because the birds, the insects... they've learned not to land here."

A group of college friends on vacation in Mexico decide to take one last excursion before heading home. What starts as curiosity turns into a trap when they arrive at a remote ruin — isolated, silent, and surrounded by an omnipotent threat hellbent on swallowing them up.

Carter Smith's The Ruins trades darkness for daylight, using heat, isolation, and mounting desperation to create a slow, suffocating descent into panic. It’s a horror film where the worst choices aren’t made out of stupidity, but out of the false hope that there’s still a way out.
