NYT Best Books October Meetup

The book this month is nonfiction, “Some People Need Killing: A Memoir of Murder in My Country” by Patricia Evangelista. Evangelista is a journalist, and tells the story of Rodrigo Duterte’s war on drugs-government sanctioned killings by police and vigilantes that led to the slaughter of thousands. Duterte is currently charged with crimes against humanity by the ICC, with trial date in September 2025.
