Moab Fall 2024, September 29 thru October 4

Details

DESCRIPTION: This is advance notice about wheeling dates in Moab the Fall of 2024. Trails will be run starting on Sunday morning September 29th and end on Friday afternoon October 4th. Trail leaders will be arriving one day earlier and departing one day later than those two dates. Lodging reservations have been difficult to obtain the last few years, so we recommend making them as early as possible. Throughout those six trail days we will be running a mix of scenic & technical trails tailored to suit the folks in attendance. Depending on the number of people who sign up, we might lead multiple trails each day. A tentative daily trail schedule will be announced in September. Please submit a comment if there are any specific trails you would like to run.

EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS: This will vary from trail-to-trail. As trail ratings go up, so do the minimum equipment requirements. For all trails every vehicle needs to have permanent vehicle mounted recovery points front & rear, a 2” or wider tow strap with closed loop ends (no open hooks) in safe working condition, D-rings, tools, an appropriate jack & spare tire, and a means to air-down & air-up tires. CB radio is REQUIRED, CB channel 12. On all trails, aggressive tread tires are required, absolutely NO STREET TIRES! For trails rated 4 & under, a stock 4-wheel drive Jeep will be capable of completing that trail though having a 2” or higher lift and 32”+ tires will be helpful. For trails rated 4 to 6, add in traction enhancements like a limited slip differential and at least a rear locker, winch, recovery gear, a 3” lift and 33” tires for 2-doors or 35” tires for 4-doors. For trails rated above 6, add in a 4.10 (or numerically higher) axle gear ratio, lockers front & rear, a 3-1/2” lift, minimum 35” tires and a highly skilled driver familiar with his/her Jeep’s capabilities & limitations.

RSVP ONLY FOR YOUR VEHICLE: Only sign up for the number of vehicles you will have on the trail on any given day. For 99.99% of us that number has historically been one. There have been a few times when both a husband & wife chose to drive separate vehicles so their RSVP was two.

MEETING PLACE: Every trail day we will meet at the southeast corner of Highways 191 & 128 at 7:30 AM then depart there at 8:00 AM.

MISC: As usual, bring chairs, lunch and non-alcoholic beverages for you and your passengers. Your guests and friendly, well behaved pets are welcome to come along.

NOTICE: Offroading, like all sports, has inherent risks and dangers. All participants (on behalf of him/her self, his/her children and his/her guests) are responsible for their own safety during The Offroad ~ AZ No Club Club runs. All participants voluntarily accept any and all risks of injury, harm, medical conditions, or property damage, assume all liabilities, and waive any and all damages against The Offroad ~ AZ No Club Club (including its organizers, hosts, and members).
