About us
📵 Offline community hangouts & events to swap screen time for real time. Unplug, relax, recharge and connect with like-minded people in Dublin's cosiest venues. 🇮🇪
Yes, absolutely no phones! 📵
When was the last time you had an uninterrupted conversation with like-minded people when the phones were locked out?
📝 The rules: 📝
During our events, we take your phone (and put it nicely into a phone hotel) and spend some Quality Time together.
Usual format: 1/1.5h of connect with yourself time (silent me-time), and 2/1.5h of "connect with the others (social time)
You will not be forced to be sociable, plus, we make the social part smooth and natural!
🤔 Who is this group for? 🤔
People of all ages and backgrounds. We usually see people aged 20, 30, 40, 50 at our meetups. Everyone is MORE THAN WELCOME!
Your hosts' ages:
🦆 Lexie is 33
🦄 Maja is 43
💛 Follow us on Instagram (we know, the irony)
We also host tickets on our LUMA - so please don't panic when there's not many people signed up through meetup - the events ALWAYS happen!
Types of events and what they mean:
- Offline hangout: Our flagship event.
Offline hangouts include board games, card games, crafting, colouring books, reading, and really - whatever you want to do! - Offline reading party: for bookish folk!
Offline Reading parties include 1.5h silent time (for books) and 1.5/1h social time (to discuss those books). You can also write or colour. Kindle is absolutely ok, audiobooks as well! - Offline craft club: for artists (and those, who want to feel like child again)
For Craft clubs we bring all the art supplies you may (or may not) need. They are usually themed, and extremely messy (so is art) - Offline walk/hike: for active offline
During offline walks, we will lead you through hiking/walking trails with a group of amazing people. Those are usually extremely social. Don't worry, though! Silent time is included at viewpoints etc. - Workshops: of all kinds
Our community is full of amazing people with even greater skills and hobbies. Our members share those skills with the community in workshops!
Is there food & Drink? 🍵☕️🍲🍪
All of our events take place in cosy Dublin venues with food and drink available. No consumption required.
Worried about not having content for your socials after the event?
I mean - we need to show where we were, right? No worries! There's a photographer on-site 📸
Want to be more involved?
We have an inner-circle free membership that allows you to join member-only events and be more involved in the community's work! (volunteer, workshop, or just be sociable with your favourite people) You can join this membership on our Luma.
Make some new friends in Dublin!

[FREE] 📵 The Offline Photo Walk 📸 | Liffey Landscapes & Architecture
The perfect way to see Dublin through a new lens. 🏙️✨
We’re teaming up with our wonderful community member, Angie, for a creative afternoon stroll as we capture the soul of the city—without the digital distractions 📵. This isn't about "the 'gram"; it's about the art of looking. We’re putting our phones on aeroplane mode and picking up our cameras to focus on the lines, light, and life along the River Liffey.
Angie loves capturing the hidden details of the city, and she’ll be co-hosting this walk to help us all find those perfect angles and unique perspectives.
🥾 The Route:
We’ll meet at the iconic Samuel Beckett Bridge and wind our way down the quays. We’ll be hunting for the best angles of Dublin’s architectural gems, including the Custom House, Liberty Hall, and the historic Ha’penny Bridge, where we will finish our journey.
- Duration: Approximately 2 hours.
- The Finish Line: For those who fancy a treat and a chat, we’ll head to Cinnamood on O’Connell Street afterwards for some coffee and their famous cinnamon rolls! ☕️🌀
***
📵 The Vibe:
Before we set off, we’ll tuck our "connected" selves away and chat while creating art! 📸
Build Connection: Even though we stay offline during the walk, the connection doesn’t end there!
After the event, we’ll encourage everyone to share their favourite "snaps" of the day our WhatsApp group. It’s a lovely way to see how everyone saw the same city through different eyes. 🖼️🤝
***
🕰️ The Schedule:
- 12:30 | Meet at the Samuel Beckett Bridge.
- 12:45 | Photo Walk begins.
- 14:30 | Arrival at Ha'penny Bridge & optional coffee at Cinnamood.
***
🐥 What to bring:
- 📷 Your Camera: Whether it’s a professional DSLR, a film camera, or just your phone (strictly for photos—no scrolling!).
- 👟 Comfortable Shoes: We’ll be on our feet for about 2 hours.
- 🌦️ Rain Gear: It’s Dublin! Let's be prepared for all four seasons.
- 💛 Yourself: No "content" creation required, just your creative eye. You can also just come to socialise, we love those walks together!
***
🎟️ Tickets & Support:
This walk is free/donation-based. We believe offline creative time should be accessible to everyone. If you’d like to support our mission and help us organise more of these events, any contribution is warmly welcomed! 💛
⚠️ Liability: Please note that everyone is responsible for their own safety and personal possessions during the walk. Let’s look out for one another!
We can't wait to see the city through your eyes!
Please do not worry if there are not many attendees on meetup - we also host our tickets on Luma - the events always happen!

📵 Offline Walk - Howth & Baily Lighthouse Loop⛰️🌊 (No-phone)
Howth DART station, Howth, Co. Dublin, Howth, Co Dublin, IEThe perfect way to spend a Saturday? 🌞
Join The Offline Club Dublin as we head North to explore the rugged, breathtaking cliffs of Howth. On Saturday, April 25th, we’re trading the digital buzz for the sound of the waves and the fresh salty air of the Irish Sea. ⛰️🌊
Where we meet: We’re gathering at the Howth DART Station at 11:00 AM. We’ll hang around until 11:15 to make sure everyone finds us! Maja & Lexie will be there before (visual guide will be sent a day before the walk!)
🥾 The Route:
We’ll be taking on the beautiful Howth and Baily Lighthouse Loop. This is a 7.6km trail that brings us along the cliff edge with views that’ll make you forget all about your Instagram feed. It’s a moderate-to-low difficulty hike with an elevation gain of 268m—enough to get the heart pumping, but plenty of time to stop and soak in the scenery. Expect about 2–3 hours of pure coastal magic!
📵 The Vibe:
No phones allowed, but you can take your "normal" camera! 📷
📸 Bonus: We will have a photographer on-site! This means you can keep your phone tucked away and still have beautiful photos of the day to look back on later. We’ll share the gallery with everyone afterwards.
✨ What to expect:- Coastal Views: Stunning lookouts over the Baily Lighthouse and the cliffs.
- Silent Time: 15-25 minutes of silent time at the stunning viewpoint
- Genuine Connection: A chance to meet like-minded people who also want to spend less time on their screens.
- Optional Social: We’ll finish back in Howth village for an optional coffee or ice cream! 🍦
🕰️ The Schedule:
- 11:00 – 11:15 | Meet at Howth DART Station.
- 11:15 – 14:00 | The Loop: Connection with others & nature.
- 14:00 | Arrival back & soft goodbyes (or optional social).
Dedicated Silent Time at one of the viewpoints!
🐥 What to bring:- 👟 Comfortable Shoes: You'll need decent grip for the cliff paths!
- 🌦️ Layers & Rain Gear: It’s Ireland in April—let’s be prepared for the sea breeze!
- 💧 Water & Snacks: Stay hydrated as we hike.
- 💛 Yourself: Just as you are. No "content" needed, just your presence.
- 🦮 Pets: More than welcome! (Just remember the lead and bags 💩).
