Mitch's Authentic Story

Mitchell C Hunter is a long‑time advocate for transgender, nonbinary, and 2SLGBQIA+ communities, working for more than 20 years to help organizations become savvy, safer and more welcoming for everyone. He served on Seattle’s LGBT Commission, where he helped develop the city’s all‑gender restroom policy, and he collaborated with the Seattle Police Department on their model transgender policy and training efforts.
As Chief Catalyst at his consulting practice, Catalyzing Momentum, Mitch helps leaders and communities bridge gaps in understanding with compassion, honesty, and a touch of humor. He often shares personal stories as a gentle, everyday way of opening hearts, easing fears, and creating space for authentic learning.
Mitch’s own spiritual path has been a winding road. After being stripped of all duties and membership at a charismatic, fundamentalist church, he spent more than 15 years searching for a spiritual home. He eventually found that home in Seattle Unity, where he is embraced and supported fully for who he is.

Today, Mitch speaks and teaches with one central message: that every person deserves to be seen, valued, and welcomed as a powerful, worthy member of the human race because when it comes right down to it, we are more alike than we are different.
