Meet fellow photo enthusiasts near you! Come to a Photography Meetup to talk about the latest gear, swap tips and techniques, share your images and stories -- and have fun doing it!
This group is open to all - from beginner, amateur and of course to the more professional digital and film photographers. Only a handful of members are semi-pro, most are keen hobbyists and amateurs who just enjoy learning and practicing.
Be sure to set your e-mail notifications settings to not miss and event announcements or updates.
This is an active group with lots of opportunities for picture taking and fun exchanges with fellow photographers at all levels.
We ask members to contribute $5/year to cover the costs of site hosting and administering the group. The individual events are either free or have a fee to share the event expenses (such a room rentals, speakers, special talent...). You can find the membership dues page at:

Our focus is general - landscapes, public events, nature, architecture, animals, macro, travel ... Just about anything but people.
If your interests encompass people, then also check out the Ottawa Model Photography Special Interest Group. This "People" interest is handled with professional models who pose for portraits, boudoir, pin- up, glamour, fashion, art nudes, creative themes, cosplay...

Fashion Week Ottawa (FWO) is more than just a runway — it’s a platform for artistic expression, cultural celebration, and community collaboration in the heart of Canada’s capital. As a non-profit initiative, FWO is dedicated to uplifting emerging designers, performers, and creatives from Ottawa and beyond by providing them with the space, audience, and support they need to share their work.
Two fund raiser Meetups (Flying dresses and Medieval fashions) helped make this event financially viable. All photographers who attended these events are entitled to VIP access, but we have room for 5 more, so this is your chance to jump in. Minimum contribution for VIP access is $30.

We're thrilled to announce our next cosplay photoshoot, featuring the talented Soupi! Many of you will remember her incredible portrayal of Shogun, and this time, she's taking on the role of the adorable and agile nekomata courier, Kirara!
This unique shoot will transport us to a secluded, lush forest, a perfect backdrop to capture the spirit of Kirara as she navigates the wilds of Inazuma. We'll be using the natural, dappled light filtering through the canopy to create a magical and ethereal mood.
Come ready to capture a different kind of energy—playful, graceful, and a little mischievous!#### A few possible Concepts:
- Urgent Neko Parcel: Capture Soupi in dynamic, mid-action shots—leaping over a fallen log, or running lightly along a winding forest path, just as Kirara would during a delivery.
- Curious Cat: Frame close-ups of Soupi peeking out from behind a mossy tree trunk or playfully hiding behind a thicket of ferns, highlighting Kirara's inquisitive nekomata nature.
- Dendro's Embrace: Pose her interacting with the environment—gently touching leaves, sitting on a sun-drenched patch of moss, or surrounded by wildflowers to showcase her Dendro element.
- Courier's Rest: Find a moment of quiet repose. Soupi can be sitting gracefully on a rock, carefully checking a package, or taking in the serene forest with a peaceful expression.
- Mystical Glimpse: Utilize the shafts of light streaming through the trees to create dramatic, ethereal lighting. We'll aim for shots that emphasize the beautiful and mystical side of the nekomata folklore.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a proven model and a character with incredible visual potential. Whether you're a seasoned photographer or just starting out, this is a perfect event to build your portfolio with a mix of action, portraits, and creative environmental shots.
