Abyss Lake
Details
Abyss Lake is a 17 mile, 3,300 feet hike that is rated as hard. This is going to be a looooong day so dress and bring food appropriately. The reward is all the views of the mountains and hopefully STUNNING fall color.
I am not a trained leader and by going on this trip you agree that you are 100% responsible for your own safety and well-being. I hike around 2-2.5 mph on average, but this is not a race to the lake. There should be many picture taking opportunities. WE WILL NOT LEAVE PEOPLE BEHIND so be certain you are at a level of fitness that can withstand 17 miles of hiking at elevation. WE WILL WAIT AT TRAIL CROSSINGS FOR YOU so if you are very slow, please let us know that we can go on ahead if we're waiting very long. But please make sure you can keep up with the group, or are confident of hiking on your own if going super slow.
