Chesman Canyon Hike

Chesman Canyon is a beautiful hike. We will be hiking the trail along river to the Upper Chesman Canyon trail. We wont complete the entire upper trail. Just hike to a amazing view overlooking the lake and dam. The trail is hard to follow at times with many false trails. And not the easiest trail because of the lose granite. But one of my favorites. Its a 8.9 miles RT hike with 1,472' elevation gain. Meet at the car pool (Fort Restaurant) at 7:10 or Trailhead at 8:00am. Approx. a 50 min. drive from the carpool location to the trailhead. We can have a late lunch at Crossroads Pub and Grill, Pine Junction afterwards.

CARPOOL OPTION: Fort Restaurant for carpool. Please park on the dirt next to the road and in front of their southern parking lot. You are not allowed to park in the parking lot.

WHAT TO BRING: Appropriate gear (food/snacks, first aid kit, rain jacket/poncho, jacket, gloves, hat, hiking poles, water, sun screen, etc).
DISTANCE/GAIN: 8.9 miles RT with 1,472ft. elevation gain. (Difficult-Strenuous).
