Dinosaur Tracks - Withers Canyon Campout and Hike
Details
Comanche National Grasslands are home to the largest dinosaur track site in North America. Over 1,900 prints in 130 separate trackways extend across a quarter mile of bedrock along the banks of the Purgatoire River.
We will be car camping at Withers Trailhead Campground in Comanche National Grassland. After breakfast Saturday morning we hike to the Dinosaur tracks. 11.5 miles RT hike with 580' elevation gain (I'm rating it as a moderate hike). It is a 3 hr. and 30 min. drive to the campground/trailhead from the Denver.
We can arrange for carpooling and can work that out in the comments.
