About Yoga Instructor Gethen Christine Morris

Gethen Christine Morris is an experienced yoga professional, songwriter, and intuitive healer dedicated to fostering holistic well-being through movement, music, and creativity. As the founder of JOYoga, Gethen has led transformational yoga retreats and workshops, specializing in shamanic yoga, breathwork, and personalized healing practices rooted in Vedic and shamanic traditions. She holds the E-RYT 500 and YACEP certifications with Yoga Alliance and is a Pranayama Facilitator and Certified Ayurvedic Nutritionist. Gethen also graduated from the Lynn V. Andrews Center for Sacred Arts, completing a rigorous four-year program in energetic and intuitive healing.
In 2022, Gethen expanded her creative pursuits with the launch of Gethen Christine Music (GCM). She made history as the only female artist featured in Pomegranate, a multi-award-winning Iraqi American independent film that redefines narratives around identity and empowerment.

Weam Namou is an Eric Hoffer award-winning author of 19 books and a filmmaker of two feature films which, together, have won over 40 international film awards. The executive director of the Chaldean Cultural Center and Museum, she has held numerous leadership roles in the literary and film sector, including as co-ambassador for the Authors Guild of America (Detroit Chapter) and founder of Unique Voices in Films. A journalist and poet, Namou's work has been published by national and international journals. She recently won a Kresge Fellowship for directing. |
