Two Cents

To be more specific about what to expect, we are not a meet guy meets girl group. The Peanuts Gang is not a romantic interlude. For those of you who missed out all my lecturing on this preview page, our topic for the first meeting is forgiveness. I am talking about the kind of forgiveness that someone in your life like your Mom or your Dad, your pastor, a football coach, hurt your feelings, someone you really needed to be there for you, and never talked to you about it and now they are gone, passed away, and you want to forgive you Dad for hurting you and you can't. As I had told the group before, I downloaded an article about forgiveness from AI and one from the VA. I will pass them out at the meeting. And I suggested that if you want to you can create a form of expression which represents what you are going through with your Dad as you search your heart and your soul, to reconcile the hurt you experienced between him and you and the progress you are making in coming to terms with your Dad. I am making a zig zag knitted scarf from a free knitting pattern I got on the internet that I call forgiveness. Maybe you like to fix your car and want to work on your car as you puruse your inellect and remember the good and bad times you had with Dad. This is a mental health group. It is not a married couples reconciliation battlefield. This is not the place for you if all you want to do is start a fight with other people. I cannot require that you be in psychiatric therapy and have a doctor and take medication. But I do. This is that type of mental health therapy group. You come as an individual with all your baggage in search of finding yourself. Two cents is from the cartoon of Charlie Brown sitting on the ground with Lucy on one side in her psychiatric booth charging 5 cents for psychiatric care, the doctor is in. And Snoopy on the other side charging 2 cents for friendly advice, the advisor is in. I am not a therapist. I am just a meetup group owner. I paid $500 to start this group.
