What we’re about

If you are driven by curiosity, crave meaningful discussions, and a genuine truth seeker, this group is for you. Subjects like philosophy, psychology, sociology, politics, etc, permeate throughout the world in all walks of life. They underlie the myriad of problems that plague our world. And yet most people call them useless, a waste of time. Most people don't realise, or don't choose to realise, that fixing the problems with our world without addressing these underlying subjects is fighting the symptoms, not the cause. Thus, the problems will manifest again and again in different forms. Let's allow these subjects to be what they are - the thing that unites us all.

Here we welcome everyone, so no experience or prior reading is required. We accommodate people of all levels of sociability as we split events into two groups: introverts and extroverts. The events' duration will be consist of segments talking with and segments talking without a card system that guarantees everyone will get a chance to speak.

Events are approximately 2 hours long and take place around evening time. The plan is to explore one big question in depth to try and reach a proper conclusion people can take home with.

Schedule:
1830 to 1840 An intro explaining the main question, relevant ideas, definitions, etc. Then we split the meetup into two groups of extroverts and introverts.

1840 to 1905 Pen discussion (theory and reasoning) with the cards.
1905 to 1930 Pen discussion without the cards.

1930 to 1940 We take a break.

1940 to 2000 Sword discussion (actionable steps forwards and possible solutions) with the cards.
2000 to 2020 Sword discussion without the cards.

2020 to 2030 A spokesperson from each group summarises everything their group has discussed and we collate our ideas together.

If you want an event dedicated to a particular question you've been dying to answer, then feel free to let me know.

The big questions can no longer be ignored. Join The Pen and the Sword to find the truth in everything.
