We live in an amazing world - and also amazing times. Modern advances give us so many different opportunities. We can jump in a plane and be across the globe in hours. We enjoy unbelievable advances in medicine. Never has it been easier to access almost infinite amounts of entertainment and information. And there's no end to our ability to capture and share our moments using technology. These are the products of modern cognition, the newer parts of the human brain that allow us to engage in abstract thought and analysis.

However amazing, is there also a downside? Is there a way that all of this technology, material advancement, drive for constant progress are wreaking havoc on our health and ability to be happy? This is the thesis in The Ancestral Mind: Reclaim the Power by Dr. Gregg Jacobs. Also, the state of being associated with our thinking mind has long been identified as contributing to suffering. Constantly grasping, wanting more, not truly present. Glued to our phones and computers, strategizing and analyzing the data, pushed along by algorithms. How often do we truly feel alive? How often do we truly feel connected and at peace?

Learn about ways of being associated with our more ancient cognitive systems. What are the benefits of bringing this into play more often? How do we do this? What is the more enchanted world that we experience? Let's explore how to carve out more time for increased connection, feeling of immersion in our surroundings, sense of beauty and awe, more expansive sense of self, and greater spiritual awareness. Let's learn how to plan days that make our lives more magical and momentous.

I have a Master of Science with a background in Information Science, Psychology, Philosophy and Cognitive Science. I am a certified trainer in Crucial Conversations and have a certificate in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction.
